It's Aaron's birthday and we are celebrating in pottery style! In true RAK style, the Rasmussen's love to celebrate with food, fun, and POTTERY!!! It's open to the public, so come out, make new friends, and enjoy the art of creating!

So, what is "sgraffito" anyway? The word literally translates "to scratch" and it's a pottery technique where you scratch into one layer of colored clay to reveal a different color underneath. Each participant will get a hand-thrown cup (we premake these just before the event) that is covered with a thin layer of white clay. You’ll grab some carving tools (all provided!) and scratch your design into the surface, revealing the darker clay underneath. The result is a cool, two-toned look that’s totally your own—and it’s surprisingly fun and relaxing to do.
