Wheel-Based Throwing Classes

We offer a variety of wheel-based classes for all skill levels. Browse through our 6-week instructional classes, one-time "Come and Try It!" classes, workshops, and independent studio time to find a class that is best for you!

Class Descriptions:

6-Week Throwing Classes: Our beginner wheel-based classes teach the fundamentals of pottery skills and techniques. We teach how to make functional forms that are structurally sound. Many students do multiple rounds of these classes. With small classes, we make sure each student is engaged and challenged no matter what skill level - beginner to advanced.

One-Time Wheel-Based Classes: One-time, two-hours, unforgettable experience! We have special events scheduled that are open to the public or you can schedule your own group to come out and enjoy the thrill of pottery!

Private Throwing Events: Book a private lesson (single or multiple), or reserve the studio for a private group event.

Hand Building Classes

Hand building in clay opens up a whole new realm of possibilities! We offer hand building classes for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're looking for a class for your kiddo or something fun to do for a friends night out, check out our different offerings here.

Class Descriptions:

6-Week Hand Building Classes: In our 6-session hand building classes, we teach the skills you need to work confidently with clay, starting with guided projects that build a strong foundation. From there, you’ll have the flexibility to develop your own ideas, with support and feedback every step of the way.

Signature Makers Events: Our Signature Makers Events are all project-based one-time classes and perfect for beginners. Browse the available class options and select a date that works for you! Open to adults and kids as young as 9.

Makers Event Minis: Similar to our Signature Makers Events, these events are all one-time hand building classes. These are smaller projects able to be completed in an hour and a half. Open to adults and kids as young as 9.

Private Throwing Events: Book a private lesson (single or multiple), or reserve the studio for a private group event.

Homeschool Classes

We are a homeschool family who loves sharing what we’ve learned with other families in our community. We offer a variety of classes during the weekdays for first grade all the way through high school. Classes are designed to be a full year's curriculum, but registration is per semester.

Update June 2026: We are currently in the process of solidifying our 26/27 school year. Some class descriptions are listed below - dates and registration will be available soon. More classes may still be added.

Class Descriptions:

Clay Explorations: These classes combine discussion-based learning with hands-on clay projects to explore history, science, and creativity. Choose from our History series (Pottery in Cultures and Art Movements in Mud) or our Science series (Oceanography and Nature's Engineering), with each series meeting every other week. Take one class, one series, or all four—whatever fits your family's schedule.

Drawing Classes: We offer three levels of drawing classes for ages 8 through high school. Intro to Drawing is a beginning drawing class for ages 8-11. Drawing I (Foundations) is our 12+ beginning-intermediate level class. Drawing II/Art II is also for ages 12+, but for upper intermediate-advanced artists.

Sculpture and Ceramics: We offer two levels of sculpture based on the student's age - Intro to Sculpture is for ages 8-11. Sculpture is for ages 12+ and open to all levels. Our Ceramics course is for ages 12+ and combines both hand building and wheel throwing techniques.

Kids Classes and Camps

For our younger crowd, we offer Storytime Sculptures (open to ages as young as 4!) and various camps during the summer. Homeschool classes are listed in a separate section below. Also note that all our hand building classes are open to ages 9 and up; our throwing classes are all open to ages 12 and up.
