Intro to Sculpture

Service Description

This class introduces young artists to the basics of sculpture through hands-on work with clay. Students will learn how to think in three dimensions by breaking complex forms down into simple shapes and learning how proportions work in sculptural form. We’ll focus on building realistic forms while keeping the process approachable and encouraging. Students will learn how to shape, attach, and refine clay, paying attention to balance, structure, and detail. As their skills grow, they’ll begin to see how small adjustments can make a big difference in how a sculpture looks and feels. Projects may include animals, humanoid figures, expressive faces, and other figurative forms. The emphasis is on learning solid foundations while leaving room for creativity and individual interpretation. Each class is 90 minutes long. All supplies and materials are included. The studio will be closed (no class) the week of March 15 - 21 for Spring Break. Payment Info A $25 deposit is required at time of booking to secure your child's spot. The remaining portion can be paid upfront before the first class or can be split monthly ($75/mo) due the first week of February, March, and April.
