Service Description
This class meets on the following dates: January 6 • January 13 • January 20 • January 27 • February 3 • February 10 This 6-week class is perfect for students who want to learn the art of pottery without using the wheel. We’ll focus entirely on handbuilding techniques—pinch, slab, and coil—to create functional, well-crafted pottery from the ground up. Over the course of the session, students will learn how to build strong forms with clean construction and thoughtful design. We’ll also explore surface decoration techniques to give each piece a personal touch. Projects may include lidded containers, bowls, vases, and more. We’ll walk through core skills step by step, but also leave a little space for creative freedom. If a student has an idea they’re excited about, we’ll do our best to help them make it happen (no guarantees, but we love when students come ready to create!). This class is beginner-friendly but offers plenty of room to grow if your student has previous experience. Need to split up the payment? For those paying by cash or Venmo, we offer two payments of $150—just let us know when you sign up! What to Bring: - Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting messy - An apron or towel This class is for ages 12+. For younger students, check out our Maker’s Events, Storytime Sculptures, or summer clay camps. Refund Policy: We don't offer refunds, but you're welcome to find someone to take your spot if something comes up.

Cancellations & Refunds All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable to a different date. Please double-check your availability before booking. If you are unable to attend, you're welcome to gift your spot to a friend. Just let us know their name in advance so we can welcome them properly. 6-Week Throwing Classes These courses are progressive, and each week builds on the last. While we understand that life happens, makeup classes are not guaranteed due to limited class sizes and scheduling. We’ll do our best to help you catch up if you miss a session, but we cannot offer credits, refunds, or rescheduling for missed classes. One-Time Classes One-time class bookings also follow a no refund, no reschedule policy. Please treat your booking like a concert or event ticket. Studio Expectations Please arrive on time. Instruction starts promptly, and late arrivals may miss essential information. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy, and bring a towel if you'd like. MeliaPottery reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class if minimum enrollment is not met. In this case, we’ll notify you in advance and issue a full refund or credit. Minimum Age & Safety Our throwing classes are for ages 12 and up unless specified otherwise. Clay can be slippery—please follow safety instructions during class to prevent injury.
